I am a veteran carpet cleaner and certified upholstery and carpet rug cleaner. Many people tell me they want to save money on carpet cleaning. They want their Carpet Cleaners North Shore at an affordable price. They will use words such as “that’s an enormous chuck of change” and “exorbitant” to describe the price they were quoted.
I explain to them that carpet cleaners can be different, that there are good and poor ones, and that you get what your pay for. I then try to give them information to help them reconsider their conclusions.
First, you need to know what carpet is and why it should be cleaned.
Wall-to-wall carpet is typically made from nylon, polyester, or wool with a backing of polypropylene. The backing does not need to be cleaned, and should never get wet from carpet cleaning. According to carpet manufacturers, we must have our carpets professionally cleaned by an IICRC Certified company (Institute of Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration Certification). Depending on your carpet warranty, it will remain fully covered for up to seven years.
Carpet cleaning can cost around three to five-hundred dollars per house every one to two year if you vacuum often. However, replacing carpet can cost you ten to twenty-fold more!

Let’s not obsess over the lowest price.
These are some of my friends’ stories about what happened when they hired “bargain” carpet cleaners.
-The company does not have reliable, well-serviced equipment. If the equipment fails, it can damage the carpet.
The company sends employees who are scary looking and don’t look good.
The company sends employees who are unable to speak English.
-The company sends employees with a positive attitude.
-The company doesn’t show up. This is most common for smaller jobs. If they take on a larger job, they will “blow you away.”
Carpet takes a while to dry, which can sometimes take days. There will be water spots and mildew by then.
-The company sends employees out who won’t honor the initial quote on the phone and will charge more for a complete “deep” cleaning. This is known as “Bait and Switch.”
All carpet cleaning should be done “deeply”.
There are only two ways to clean carpets. Carpet cleaning should include a thorough cleaning and all preconditioning. This will ensure a clean and thorough job with no re-inspection. This will ensure that you get the best value for your money and you won’t have to use it again for another year.
